Singapore Clinical Research Professionals (SCRP) Inaugural Event

Tikva’s founder and CEO, Dr. Ivan Horak, participated in the Singapore Clinical Research Professionals (SCRP) Inaugural Event as panel speaker.

SINGAPORE – 18 Mar 2024 – Dr. Ivan Horak, Founder and CEO of Tikva Allocell Pte Ltd (“Tikva”) attended the Singapore Clinical Research Professionals (SCRP) inaugural event on March 1, 2024, held at the event space of SGInnovate. As a speaker of the panel discussion “Singapore Clinical Trial Landscape – 2024 and Beyond”, Dr. Horak shared his views on the opportunities and challenges in conducting clinical research for drug development from the perspective of a biotechnology company. He commented that the “excellent academic research” and “top medical centers” in Singapore constitute a good infrastructure for attracting companies to conduct clinical trials in the country. Dr. Horak also expressed the potential of Singapore to become a hub for biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovations by highlighting the similarity between Singapore and Denmark, a country with comparable population size and is a big hub for biotechnology companies in Europe.

The panelists at the discussion include: Adjunct Associate Professor Danny Soon, CEO of Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), Executive Director of Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI), and Interim Executive Director of Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore; Professor Dean Ho, Director of The Institute of The N.1 Institute for Health, and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore; and Mr. Nate Zhang, VP and GM of Clinical Research and Overseas Business at Taimei Technology. The moderator of the panel was Dr. Jing Ping Yeo, Head of Transformation at George Clinical and Chairperson of SCRP. Other speakers at the event are Ms. Wan Yee Goh, SVP and Head for Healthcare at Singapore Economic Development Board, Dr. Jui Lim, CEO of SGInnovate, and Dr. Eugene Gan, Senior Director of Operations at SCRI.

The speakers provided valuable insights on the latest advancements in clinical research and shared practical strategies in navigating the operational and regulatory aspects of conducting clinical trials. The overwhelming participation by delegates from both the public and private sectors underscore the enthusiasm for promoting clinical research activities in Singapore.

She has led cross-functional teams to achieve IND filing with FDA, and progress of pipeline products from preclinical to clinical studies. At Tikva Allocell, she establishes strategic partnerships to advance the development of cell therapies for the treatment of cancers.
