Eppendorf Bioprocess Day 2024

Tikva Allocell Scientist presented at the Eppendorf Singapore Bioprocess Day on how QbD and DoE concepts is applied actively in process development of our cell therapy product.

SINGAPORE – 10 Jul 2024 – Mr Jinkai Teo, Principal Data Scientist at Tikva Allocell was invited to speak at the Eppendorf Singapore Bioprocess Day held on the 4th of July 2024.

His presentation focuses on how Tikva Allocell infuses Quality by Design (QbD) and Design of Experiment (DoE) concepts to rigorously optimize and characterize the manufacturing of our allogeneic T cells. He explains that this approach efficiently uses valuable resources to maximize the amount of knowledge gained and potentially lead to a better and more affordable product for our various stakeholders. He also alludes to the considerable challenge in cell therapy product (CTP) manufacturing because of the much greater complexity of live cell products, incomplete understanding of their mechanism of action, difficulties in product characterization and variability of starting materials.

The Eppendorf Singapore Bioprocess Day was a great success with talks from experts across various fields, from virus manufacturing and upstream and downstream process development of MSC-derived exosome for skin disease to cultivated meat and making coffee without coffee beans!

We are honoured to be invited and look forward to the event next year!

CAR-T cell therapy has revolutionized cancer treatment, but its efficacy against solid tumors remains limited due to challenges like poor CAR-T cell in-vivo survival. Tikva’s engineered SB9 EBVST platform will not only address a major resistance mechanism axis but also opens doors to more effective CAR T cell therapies for solid tumors.
